Ullberg:
wind in the sails

A poetic portrait of world-renowned sculptor Kent Ullberg, this documentary traces his journey from the coasts of Sweden to the shores of South Texas. Through breathtaking visuals and intimate storytelling, Ullberg: Wind in the Sails explores the artist’s deep connection to nature, his monumental works in bronze, and the legacy he continues to shape across continents.

We’re thrilled to announce that Ullberg: Wind in the Sails has been selected for PBS’s Made in Texas series, airing May 2026. Our final fundraising push will help us deliver a streamlined, one-hour broadcast that will reach 200,000 Texas households.

“I have watched Wind in the Sails about ten times now and am glad because I see and hear things that I missed earlier. The story is so well constructed…just an amazing journey, so well-told by Matthew and Denise.”

We’re launching the film on the national and regional festival circuit, targeting premier documentary showcases to build awards momentum and attract press, industry partners, and distribution offers. Alongside submissions, we’ll host Q&A screenings and leverage strategic outreach to engage audiences, programmers, and community organizations at every stop.

After our festival run and PBS Texas premiere, we’ll pursue public distribution across multiple platforms: educational licensing for universities and museums, on-demand streaming (e.g., Kanopy, Vimeo On Demand), and curated community screenings with partner nonprofits. We’ll also produce a limited-edition disc package—complete with bonus features and an educational study guide—to deepen the film’s impact in classrooms and civic venues.
